On the occasion of Constitution Day, Arihant College of Arts, Commerce & Science, in collaboration with the Political Science Department and NSS , organized a special program on 27th November 2024 in the college auditorium. The event aimed to foster awareness of constitutional values and provide students with practical insights into the democratic process.
The program was followed by a guest lecture by Adv. Vijay Ahire, who spoke on “The Constitution: A Foundation of Indian Democracy.” Adv. Ahire elaborated on the historical significance of the Constitution, its relevance in contemporary governance, and the critical role of youth in protecting democratic values. A solemn Preamble reading session was conducted, where students and staff collectively pledged to uphold the ideals of the Constitution.
The event concluded with a Mock Parliament, where 20 students participated in enacting a simulated Lok Sabha session. They assumed roles such as Speaker, Prime Minister, and MPs, debating pressing issues like women’s reservation and climate change. The session offered participants a hands-on experience in understanding the intricacies of parliamentary procedures and decision-making, making the event both educational and impactful.
